“ALWAYS START A PAINTING WITH 0% EXPECTATIONS & 100% KINDNESS FOR YOURSELF.”

Welcome to Whole Artist Mastery, WAM for short. I’m so glad you’re here!

WAM is about owning your authentic voice, making compelling work and being the artist you want to be.

When I started to teach about 20 years ago, I was often asked “How do you do what you do?” Articulating the answer led to the foundation of the Four Phases of making abstract art, which is at the heart of my WAM philosophy.

It gives me great joy to nurture the creative spirit of artists like you and guide you in creating “whole” work through your particular use of line, value, color, texture and shape in your medium of choice.

I invite you to peruse my website and consider registering for a pre-recorded online course or in-person workshop, or schedule a complimentary in-person consultation to see if one of my mentorship programs is right for you.

I’d love the opportunity to work with you.

THE WHOLE ARTIST mastery PHILOSOPHY

Simply put, Whole Artist Mastery is about bringing the unique parts of you together in your artwork through your personal expression of line, color, value, shape and texture with strong composition and technical skill to engage your viewer’s heart and mind.

When these three aspects are fully aligned, we have an indescribable experience that can only be summed up with “Wow! I don’t know why I like this piece, I just do!”

This is what I call Whole Art.

It’s whole because the emotional, intellectual, and physical elements of a piece are fully integrated and our experience of the work transcends each respective element. It reflects our heart, head, and hand (Thank you Brené Brown for these brilliant three words!) and shares that energy with our viewers.

Making and sharing Whole Art kindles Whole Energy.

Kindling whole energy contributes to building connection and resiliency in an increasingly fractured world.
