Brush Cleaner

Rags

Rags are used to rub paint for blending purposes. A heavier rag is necessary for pushing paint around on a larger area of a painting. Jersey material is best for soft blending with your finger in smaller areas of a painting. 

  • IKEA dish towels are best for larger areas of a painting

  • Old or purchased-for-painting tee shirts are best for soft blending in smaller areas of a painting 

Glass Palette

Glass is the best surface for mixing paint on. Period!

Squeegees / Bowl Scrapers

These tools are used for spreading paint and blending paint on your substrate. They are most effective on wood panel substrates however they also can be used with canvas.

    Recommended sizes to have are 4”, 5”,  and 6”

Palette Knife

Best palette knife for mixing paint and scraping paint on glass palette is a Small Long Trowel design
